How do we resolve this? The nature of God, and What sin is.
God is …
… LOVE! (1 John 4)
“… the Lord desires to raise [all people] up to heaven towards Himself. For His mercy is infinite since it is Divine mercy itself and is indeed directed towards the whole human race, and so towards the evil as well as the good.” (Heavenly Secrets, paragraph 2401, section 4)
So, what’s the deal with sin? How DO you offend UNCONDITIONAL love?
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5, NKJV)
In Jeff Benner’s Mechanical Translation, “evil” is translated as “dysfunction” – www.mechanical-translation.org/mtt/G6.html

You are harming yourself by what you have done, not offending God. That is hell.
Hell is …
“We are all judged according to our deeds. It is not that these deeds are tallied up but that we return to them and behave the same.” (Divine Providence, paragraph 277b)
“a person’s love … determines the life he leads, … As is people’s love therefore, so is their life … Love towards the neighbour receives the life of heaven, while self-love receives the life of hell.” (Heavenly Secrets, paragraph 4776, section 4)
“Fear him who, having killed the body, has power to cast into hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
The Unforgivable sin
“… when a person thinks in one way and lives in another, truth and evil or goodness and falsity are combined with each other; that is, things of heaven with a person are combined with those of hell. This combination cannot be dissolved, and so the person cannot be healed, except by a tearing apart which takes away with it everything of spiritual life.” (Heavenly Secrets, paragraph 8882)
“’Speaking a word against the Holy Spirit’ means speaking well of things that belong to the Lord, to His kingdom and Church, and also to the Word, but thinking ill of them; and doing well in respect of them while desiring what is ill.” (Heavenly Secrets, paragraph 9013, section 6)
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.” (Matthew 12:33)
I do not believe in a God who condemns. Anyone. Ever. God will never fail to love you, no matter what you do. But the chaos you cause along the way … and especially as it harms others … That is what makes you miserable.
There’s not judge watching and waiting to condemn us.
God STRIVES to lead us out of it. He’s looking for every opportunity to lead us away from what is harmful to what is helpful and healthy.
